Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship Program
Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship provides platform for individuals who have identified a social problem, want to develop a business model that addresses the social problem and are willing to develop a business plan.
Nabil SSE Offers two programs:
- Fellowship Program
- Certificate Course on Social Entrepreneurship
- Fellowship Program on Social Entrepreneurship
The Nabil SSE Fellowship Programme is focussed on promoting social entrepreneurship across different themes and sectors such as livelihood, skill development, agriculture, education, healthcare, arts & communities’ well-being, energy, etc. spread across the country. Nabil SSE has partnered with Faculty of Management, School of Management, Tribhuvan University to implement fellowship program to invite ideas that can bring positive impact in the lives of the people, society and environment contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
The fellowship course is designed to aspiring social entrepreneurs who are looking for support to kick start their enterprises. The course will be a rigorous action based learning process where the entrepreneur will be able to establish an enterprise at the end of the course.
Duration of the Course
This is a six-month long programme, with mentoring for a period of total one year. Every month fellows will attend the learning programme physically for 3 days and they would have residential programme for 18 days in total. Each one of them would be paired with a mentor who will be their sounding board for their entrepreneurial journey for 1 year.
Expected Outcome of the Course
At the end of 6 – 12 months, the Fellow will have an investment ready-enterprise or a business ready with product/service to trade in the market. The Fellow would be able to pitch his/her business plan to any financial institution or investors.
Selection Process
Selection will be a two-stage process. Application form will be reviewed against a rubric and selected applicants will be called for an in-person interview. Selected candidates will be then invited for attend the fellowship program
Eligibility Criteria:
Age Group: The age group of the candidates should be 18 years and above and should be a Nepali Citizen
Instruction medium: The medium of instruction will be in both English and Nepali. The candidate must have functional knowledge of English and Nepali language. However, language is not a barrier to learning.
Attendance: The candidate must commit to attend fellowship program for 6 months, giving 3-4 days every month. Please note minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to complete the programme.
Travel expenses: The candidate should bear all travel expenses incurred for attending the fellowship program. However, the boarding & lodging facility will be provided for attending the programme.
Identification of social issue/problem: The candidate must have identified a social problem that s/he wants to solve. The candidate should have a strong reason to solve the identified problem. The candidate should have a feasible solution in mind/on paper or prototyped.

- Certificate Course on Social Entrepreneurship:
Nabil SSE has partnered with 7 academic institutions in all seven provinces of Nepal to conduct this course. The course aims at providing aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, students and individuals who want to learn and contribute towards developing social entrepreneurship in their area.

The partnering college charges an enrollment fee of NPR 1000 to join the certificate course.

Over the 3 years since the establishment of Nabil SSE and the conduction of certificate course across partnering colleges in all province, 711 individuals have completed the certificate course, leading to the establishment of 72 social enterprises.
