Helvetas Nepal – Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme
Vacancy Announcement: Driver
The Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme is a bilateral initiative of the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland, implemented by Helvetas Nepal. The programme supports safe migration and reintegration of Nepali migrant workers through the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, in collaboration with provincial and local governments.
SaMi invites applications from qualified and experienced individuals for the position mentioned below.
Position: Driver
Duty Station: Kanchanpur (Sudurpaschim Province)
Programme Duration: Until 15 July 2026
Number of Positions: Few
Minimum Qualification and Experience:

Must have passed at least Grade 8 (Basic Level).

Must possess a valid vehicle driving license (Category A or B).
-
At least three years of driving experience in a recognized organization or institution.
-
Must have knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety driving practices.

Priority will be given to candidates who:
-
Have prior experience working with NGOs or development organizations.
-
Are local residents of the working area (especially from Kanchanpur or nearby districts).
-
Belong to women, Dalit, Janajati, Madhesi, or disadvantaged groups.

Major Responsibilities:
-
Safely operate and maintain the programme’s vehicle as per organizational policies.
-
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, properly maintained, and regularly serviced.
-
Maintain accurate vehicle logbook and fuel records.
-
Support the project team by transporting staff, guests, and materials as required.
-
Ensure compliance with all traffic rules and safety regulations.
-
Report immediately to the supervisor in case of vehicle issues or accidents.
-
Perform any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor or project management team.
